About Battleship

Battleship is the classic naval guessing game. You command a fleet of five ships — a carrier, battleship, cruiser, submarine and destroyer — hidden on a 10x10 grid. Place them yourself by rotating and clicking, or hit Auto-place, then start the battle. You and the computer take turns firing at each other's grids: a hit keeps your turn going, a miss passes it over. The computer fires back with hunt-and-target logic — searching at random until it scores a hit, then closing in on the surrounding cells to finish the ship. Sink all five enemy ships before yours go down to win. Choose a difficulty to face a sharper opponent. No signup, no download, nothing uploaded.

It uses hunt-and-target logic: it fires at untried cells until it lands a hit, then targets the cells around that hit, following the line of a ship to sink it before resuming the random hunt.

Yes — rotate between horizontal and vertical and click your grid to place each ship, or use Auto-place to drop the whole fleet randomly. Ships cannot touch, including diagonally.

Difficulty sets how smart the computer is. Easy fires almost at random, while Normal and Hard hunt efficiently and target neighbouring cells after a hit to finish ships faster.
