About Centipede
The arcade classic, right in your browser. A centipede snakes down through a field of mushrooms, bouncing sideways and dropping a row each time it hits one - heading straight for your shooter at the bottom. Move around the bottom band and fire upward to break it apart. Hit a segment in the middle and the centipede splits in two and drops a fresh mushroom, so the field keeps thickening. Clear every segment to advance to a faster wave. You get three lives; your best score is saved locally. No signup or download.

Move your shooter around the bottom band and fire upward at the centipede as it winds down through the mushrooms. Destroy every segment to clear the wave, and avoid letting the centipede reach you.
It splits in two. Each half becomes its own centipede with its own head, and a mushroom is dropped where you hit - so middle hits make the field busier, while picking off the ends keeps it simpler.
Mushrooms steer the centipede: each time it bumps one it reverses and drops a row, weaving it toward you. You can shoot mushrooms away - each takes a few hits - to open safer lanes for your shots.
Three. You lose one whenever the centipede touches your shooter; after a brief respawn you carry on. The game ends when your lives run out.
