How to play

  1. Read the clues. The numbers on a row or column are the lengths of its filled blocks, in order, with at least one gap between them.
  2. Fill and cross out. Left-click to fill a cell; right-click or switch to Mark mode to cross out a cell you know is blank.
  3. Reveal the picture. Satisfy every row and column clue — when the filled cells match the solution, you win.

About Nonograms

Nonograms — also called Picross, Griddlers or Hanjie — are logic puzzles where numbers beside each row and column tell you the lengths of the filled blocks in that line, in order. Work out which cells must be filled and which must be blank, fill them in, and a hidden picture emerges. Every game generates a fresh random puzzle, and you win the moment the filled cells exactly match the solution. Use Fill mode to shade cells and Mark mode (or a right-click) to cross out the ones you know are empty. Pick a difficulty to choose the grid size. It runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

The numbers beside each row and column give the lengths of the filled blocks in that line, in order, separated by at least one empty cell. You use those clues to deduce which cells are filled and which are blank, revealing a hidden picture.

A clue like "3 1" means that line has a block of three filled cells, then a gap, then a single filled cell, in that order. A "0" means the line is completely empty.

Switch to Mark mode and click it, or simply right-click the cell. Crossing out known blanks is the key technique.

Difficulty sets the grid size: Easy is 5×5, Normal is 10×10 and Hard is 15×15. Bigger grids have longer clues and more deductions.
